【摘要】:Testingmachinesthatapplyandindicateforceareingeneraluseinmanyindustries.PracticesE4hasbeenwrittentoprovideapracticefortheforceverificationofthesemachines.AnecessaryelementinPracticesE4istheuseofdeviceswhoseforcecharacteristicsareknowntobetraceabletonationalstandards.PracticeE74describeshowthesedevicesaretobecalibrated.Theproceduresareusefultousersoftestingmachines,manufacturersandprovidersofforcemeasuringinstruments,calibrationlaboratoriesthatprovidethecalibrationoftheinstrumentsandthedocumentsoftraceability,andserviceorganizationsthatusethedevicestoverifytestingmachines.1.1Thepurposeofthispracticeistospecifyproceduresforthecalibrationofforce-measuringinstruments.Proceduresareincludedforthefollowingtypesofinstruments:1.1.1Elasticforce-measuringinstruments,and1.1.2Force-multiplyingsystems,suchasbalancesandsmallplatformscales.Note1Verificationbydeadweightloadingisalsoanacceptablemethodofverifyingtheforceindicationofatestingmachine.TolerancesforweightsforthispurposearegiveninPracticesE4;methodsforcalibrationoftheweightsaregiveninNISTTechnicalNote577,MethodsofCalibratingWeightsforPistonGages.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Othermetricandinch-poundvaluesareregardedasequivalentwhenrequired.1.3Thispracticeisintendedforthecalibrationofstaticforcemeasuringinstruments.Itisnotapplicablefordynamicorhighspeedforcecalibrations,norcantheresultsofcalibrationsperformedinaccordancewiththispracticebeassumedvalidfordynamicorhighspeedforcemeasurements.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
